A field of red at Hamilton Gardens. Every year, all over the world, people put on red dresses and dance Kate Bush together on the same day. This was the Hamilton one.


The rain came, so everyone moved under cover. Then the sound system died. So they sang it themselves, dancing to their own voices.


Nobody there looked the same as anyone else. Every age, every kind of person, all in red, and every one of them pulled in and made welcome.


The arms went up anyway.
