First vintage shoot in the home studio, and I wanted to know two things. Whether one window was enough light, and whether there was room to work with a big dress.
Hollie brought three. Black with embroidered roses, purple off the shoulder, and a black one that caught every bit of light in the room.
The brief was loose. A bit editorial. Aloof, bored, somewhere else in her head.
She held it for a few frames at a time. Then she'd laugh, and the laugh was better, so we shot that instead.
The light did more than I expected. Hard and side-on against the dark wall. Soft through the sheers. Wide open behind her at the curtains, so she was only a shape. Straight down while she lay back, curls spread out underneath her.
The room holds a big dress. Three of them.
